For U.S. citizens sailing on a closed-loop cruise (round-trip from the same U.S. port), a passport is not required. In place of a passport, U.S. citizens may travel with a valid government-issued photo ID and an original birth certificate. Travel requirements are subject to change, so carrying a passport is always advised.
For Jamaican citizens, Caribbean nationals, and all other non-U.S. citizens, a valid passport is required to cruise. Additionally, some travelers may require a U.S. visa or other entry documentation depending on nationality, residency status, and immigration history. It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they meet all entry and re-entry requirements prior to sailing.
